Coming Back…

This Friday, after 16 years, I’ll be coming back to our hometown, the place where I was born - Cuyo, Palawan. Our family decided that we spend the Holy Week there…super excited!

Cuyo Island Group is a group of 45 islets between the islands of Palawanand Panay and south of Mindoro Island. Cuyo is divided into two island groups. Up north is the Quiniluban group to which Pamalican island is part and where the exclusive Amanpulo Resort belongs. To the south are the Cuyo islands, where the three municipalities namely Cuyo, Agutaya, and Magsaysay are located. The biggest island in this group is Cuyo with an area of 57 square kilometers. Vastly undiscovered by the mainstream tourism industry, there’s so much to discover in Cuyo.

Cuyo was popularized by the Philippine romantic drama film “Ploning,” starred by veteran actress Judy Ann Santos. After taking a walk along the beach and the streets of Cuyo Town proper, you could sense why the island was the perfect setting to film such a beautiful story … how the seascapes of Cuyo could bring out the romance of life in a typical coastal village in the Philippines.

Look at that crystal blue water!!!
